John "Jack" J. Birmingham, 79, husband of Shirley A. (Kulp) Birmingham of Douglassville, PA died suddenly on Monday December 30, 2013. Jack married Shirley, his childhood sweetheart, almost 59 years ago. Born in Shenandoah, PA he was the son of the late John J. and Helen E. (Shustack) Birmingham, Sr. Jack was a pipe fitter and welder throughout the Pottstown area for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Jack was a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother R.C.C. , Howard and Jefferson Streets in Stowe, PA . He was a 3rd degree member of Father Bally Council #1192 Knights of Columbus of Stowe, PA and a 4th degree member of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Assembly #3046 of Stowe, PA . He was also a member of St. Gabriel's Lodge and a life member of the West End Fire Co. both of Stowe, PA . Surviving with his wife is a daughter Cheryl A. wife of William Dampman of Douglassville, PA. Also, two grandchildren Jennifer R. wife of Philip Nunan of Boyertown, PA and Dale Dampman and his partner Jesse Melchior of Mohnton, PA . Also, a great-grandson Aidan Nunan. Jack is survived by three brothers Joseph Daniel Birmingham of Douglassville, PA, James P. Birmingham of King of Prussia, PA and Edward F. Birmingham of Gilbertsville, PA . Also, two sisters Anne M. Kelsch of Bechtelsville, PA and Rita R. Reigner of Douglassville, PA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother R.C.C. on Monday January 6, 2014 at 11 A.M. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA. A viewing will be Sunday evening from 7-9 P.M. and Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 A.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA . In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the memorial fund of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother R.C.C. 127 East Howard Street, Stowe, PA 19464 or to The American Heart Association 1617 John F.
