John Andrew Mcmenamin

John Andrew McMenamin, Jr., 68, passed away peacefully in his daughters' home on Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Jean (McAllister) McMenamin. The couple married October 30, 1976. Sadly, Elizabeth passed June 17, 2018.

Born in Philadelphia, John was a son of the late John A., Sr and Elizabeth A. (Kelly) McMenamin. John served proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Science form Gwynedd Mercy University.

John was employed as an Environmental Safety Manager with Exelon Corp. for over 25 years before retiring 2016. John was a devoted member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Pottstown and considered himself very religious. Above all else, he was a dedicated and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and true friend. He will be sadly missed.

John is proudly survived by three children: Jeannine E. (McMenamin) Will and her husband, Andrew of Gilbertsville, Sean P. McMenamin and his wife, Jennifer of Philadelphia and Erin T. (McMenamin) Groff and her husband, Harry of Pottstown; three grandchildren: Donovan Joseph Will, Molly Elizabeth Will and Leyana Elizabeth Groff; five siblings: Elizabeth McMenamin of Philadelphia, Marie Conners, wife of the late Ronald Conners of New Jersey, Daniel McMenamin and his wife, Anne of New Jersey, Terry McMenamin and his wife, Janet of Gilbertsville and Francis McMenamin of Philadelphia and a sister-in-law, Janice McMenamin wife of the late James McMenamin.

Due to the Worldwide Pandemic, John's Mass of Christian Burial will be limited to his family but will be live-streamed at 10am on Friday for those unable to attend. However, his burial is public on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:15am in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, 800 Block of Buchert Rd., Pottstown, PA 19464 where military honors will be accorded. Please, continue to practice social distancing and masks are required. All services will be live-streamed at the link below.
