Jeannine M. Ferrante

Jeannine Marie Calcasacco Ferrante, 93, of Stowe, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Tower Health Reading Hospital.

Born in Birdsboro, PA, on June 11, 1929, Jeannine was the daughter of the late Mary Helene Calcasacco of Birdsboro.

Jeannine was the widow of August John ("Gus") Ferrante, with whom she celebrated over 61 years of marriage.

A 1947 graduate of Birdsboro High School, Jeannine was class salutatorian and class president. Continuing her education at Albright College, Jeannine majored in biology and chemistry, and was an alumna of the Class of 1951. Jeannine retired as an Earned Income Tax Officer for the Borough of Pottstown, and previously worked as both an independent insurance agent and an insurance agent with the Philadelphia Life Insurance Company.

A devoted parishioner of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Roman Catholic Church in Stowe, PA, for over 70 years, Jeannine was dedicated to her faith and a loyal and caring friend to her neighbors and her church community. Jeannine was an active member of the St. Gabriel's Senior Citizens Group, and previously served as President of both the Stowe Lioness Club and the St. Gabriel's School Parent Teacher Association.

Jeannine is survived by her son, Philip August Ferrante (Linda) of Columbia, SC; daughter, Nanette Ferrante Cutrona (Salvatore, Sr.) of Mohnton, PA; grandsons, Dante C. Cutrona (Molly) of Washington, DC, and Salvatore M. Cutrona, Jr. (Sarah) of Chester Springs, PA; and great-grandchildren, Giana L. Cutrona and Salvatore M. Cutrona, III, of Chester Springs, PA.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Roman Catholic Church, Fairview and Monroe Streets, Stowe at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022. A viewing will be held in the Church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. immediately preceding the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jeannine's memory to the St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 127 East Howard Street, Stowe, PA 19464.
