Jean Kresge Treadwell, age 79, died peacefully at home in East Nantmeal on April 10, 2016. Jean was born April 14, 1936, in Stroudsburg PA, the daughter of Carl and Helen Kresge. Jean earned a BS in nursing from Syracuse University in 1959. During her time there, she met her husband of 56 years, Tom. While raising their two children in Valley Forge, returned to school and achieved an MS in Health Education in 1982. After Tom's retirement, Jean and Tom first moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where she pursued another career-this time earning a degree in Interior Design from Scottsdale Community College in 2004. Jean enjoyed a variety of sports. She played Tennis regularly, and was an avid swimmer, and took delight in daily walks with her dog Dufle, a giant schnauzer, and later, Choc the poodle. Jean was also a skilled golfer, and until her diagnosis was active with the Kimberton Golf Club, where she held many long-lasting friendships up until her passing. Alongside both corporate and leisure travel with Tom throughout the years, Jean was an expert entertainer in their different homes. Loyal friends from Valley Forge Mountain continued to spend time with Jean in her home during her long illness. Jean is survived by her husband Tom; two children, Tim Treadwell of Amagansett, New York and Gretchen Treadwell of Rico, Colorado; her daughter-in-law Tennille; and two grandchildren Thomas and Tiana Treadwell. The family will hold a private service. A celebration of Jean's life will be held in May for friends in their home.
