Jean C. Staniszewski

Jean C. (Obniski) Staniszewski, 84, widow of Stephen E. Staniszewski of Hollidaysburg, PA and formerly of Pottstown, PA passed away Thursday May 17, 2012 at St. Leonards Home, Inc. in Hollidaysburg. Born in Shamokin, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Sosnoskie) Obniski. Jean was married to the late Stephen E. Staniszewski on April 26, 1947 in St. Stephen's R.C.C. in Shamokin, PA . Jean had worked as a sewer and presser for the former Pottstown Textile Co. . She had also worked in housekeeping for the Manatawny Association of Pottstown, PA . She was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. 223 Beech Street, Pottstown, PA . Jean loved spending time with her family and loved to travel. Surviving are three sons Stephen Staniszewski husband of Virginia of Duncansville, PA, Gregory Staniszewski husband of Patti of Glendale, Arizona and Dennis Staniszewski husband of Jill of Auburn, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Stephanie Kanach, Edward, Stephen, Brian, Sean and Vicki Staniszewski and Kelly Hornak and Tabitha Petrez. Also, thirteen Great-grandchildren and two Great-great Grandchildren. Also, a brother Chester Obniski husband of Marion of Shamokin and a sister Stella Dobson also of Shamokin, PA . Jean was pre-deceased by seven brothers and sisters. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C. on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. A viewing will be Tuesday evening from 7-9 P.M. and Wednesday from 9-10 A.M. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA , Memorial contributions can be made to St. Leonard's Home, Inc. 601 North Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
