Jean Marie O'Connor

Jean Marie (Neiman) O'Connor, 80, wife of Thomas E. O'Connor whom she was married to for fifty-five years, of North Franklin Street, Pottstown, PA died Friday at Mercy Suburban Hospital, Norristown, PA . Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Mae (Quinter) Neiman. Mrs. O'Connor had worked as a financial officer for Thomas E. O'Connor Electrical Contracting Company her husband's business for fifty years. She was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. Beech & Hanover Streets, Pottstown, PA. She has been in girl scouting (St. Aloysius R.C.C. organizer), politics (majority and minority leader and a Montgomery County tabulator) – all for 24 years. She was also a member of Father Bally Council #1192 Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was a volunteer for Pottstown Memorial Medical Center where she had over 3,000 volunteer hours. She loved life, cooking, and enjoyed traveling the world. Surviving with her husband are two sons Thomas A. O'Connor of Reading, PA and David J. O'Connor husband of Laura of Pottstown, PA . Also, two daughters Rosemarie O'Connor and Kathleen M. O'Connor both of Pottstown, PA . Both sons are Eagle Scouts and both daughters are Gold Award Scouts. She is also survived by two grandchildren Joshua and Katelyn O'Connor. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C. on Saturday August 27, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery Lower Pottsgrove Township. A viewing will be Saturday from 9 – 10:30 A.M. at the Gathering Center of St. Aloysius R.C.C.
