Jeannie Alamia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on July 27, 1944, in the Reading Hospital. Jeannie was the daughter of Stella Mazur and Walter Galczynski.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to create a joyful life filled with love and laughter. Jeannie's vibrant spirit shone brightly throughout her life. As the sole owner of Jeannie's Beauty Salon in South East Reading, she not only provided beauty services but also created a welcoming space where friendships blossomed. Her passion for life extended beyond the salon; she was known for her adventurous spirit, having performed in water skiing stunt shows with Reading Boat Works and proudly operating her own ski boat.
Jeannie is survived by her loving husband, Sal Alamia, and her two daughters, Robin (Tim Lincoln) and Tawny (Tarik Castilho). She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Alexis and Rachael Lincoln, Nina Alamia, Sophia and Sean McGuire, and Salvatore Alamia III. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into nurturing their dreams and celebrating their achievements.
Jeannie is also survived by her beloved siblings: Arlene Sellers, Ellie Falco, Lynette Stevens (Bob), and Gerald Galczynski (Denise).
She was predeceased by her stepson, Salvatore Alamia Jr., her brother, Kevin Galczynski and a brother-in-law Harry Falco.
