James R. Gray

James Robert "Bobby" Gray, Jr., 76, died Saturday, August 31st,, at Pennsburg Manor. Born in Pottstown, Bobby was the son of the late Dr. James Robert Gray Sr. ("Doc Gray") and Esther Sherman of Pottstown. A graduate of Pottstown High School and attendee of the Hill School and Moravian College, Bobby had a lifelong love of American and Pottstown history and enjoyed sharing that knowledge with family and his many friends. In his youth Bobby was an avid athlete who enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and golf. His boyhood summers spent at Long Beach Island wer among his happiest. Bobby is survived by his family in Pennsylvania: Kathleen Lerch and her husband Kerry; and James Robert Gray III and his wife Lisa; as well as his family in New England: Jennifer Kelliher, her husband Michael and son Mikey; John Gray and his wife Angela; Katharine Gray; and his beloved sister and best friend, Carolyn Durkin.
