James M Ciccone

James M. "Jim" Ciccone, 69, passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2026, with his family close beside him. Born July 19, 1956, Jim was the beloved son of the late Anthony and Mamie (Maddona) Ciccone.

For over three decades, Jim put his skill and steady hands to work as a welder and fabricator at Universal Machine Company. He was a perfectionist through and through - the kind of craftsman who couldn't walk away from a job until it was done right, not just done. Coworkers knew him as someone who took real pride in precision, and that exacting eye followed him everywhere, on the clock and off.

That same passion carried straight into his time off the clock. Cars weren't a hobby for him so much as a calling: he raced them on the drag strip, rebuilt them in the garage, hunted down the next project, and eventually sold them off, only to start the cycle again. Much of what he knew came from his older brother, Joseph, who first taught him about cars and sparked a passion that lasted a lifetime. It was never really about the finish line or the sale price. It was about the work, the roar of an engine coming back to life, and the company of anyone who loved cars as much as he did. That same competitive fire followed him to the archery range, where he racked up medal after medal and, eventually, a state championship - proof that his sharp eye and steady hand were every bit as reliable as his wrench.

He leaves behind his children, Joe Ciccone, Jesse Hopkins (and her husband, Gary), Colt Ciccone (and his wife, Michelle), and Cody Ciccone, along with six grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin sister, Rose Marie "Luke" Bauman, and her husband, John. Jim was reunited in death with his parents and his brother, Joseph A. Ciccone, who preceded him.

Those who knew Jim won't remember a quiet man. They'll remember his ornery spirit and laughter, the stories, the grease-stained hands, and the way he made an ordinary afternoon feel like an event.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home Inc. A service celebrating Jim's life will follow at 11 a.m., with burial afterward at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

And in true Jim fashion, the family asks that anyone with a hot rod, unique, or antique car bring it along for the service - one last cruise in his honor, engines running the way he liked them best.
