James B. Ziss Sr.

James B. Ziss, Sr., 72, passed away on August 13, 2026, at Phoenixville Hospital. He was the husband of Wanda L. Greiss.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late John H. and Anna M. (Yusko) Ziss. James worked in the foundry at Stanley G. Flaggs and in the maintenance department of the Owen J. Roberts School District.

James was a firefighter for over 30 years. He was also a member of Empire Hook & Ladder and Frontier Archery Club.

James is survived by his wife, Wanda, sons, James, Jr. and Matthew Ziss (Tina), and daughter, April Gebhard (Don) and five grandchildren: Brittany, Tyler, Kileigh, Danielle, and Brandon.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Warker~Troutman Funeral Home with interment at Highland Memorial Park. The visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
