Howard T. Miller

Howard T. "Howie" Miller, 68, husband of Maureen S. (Feyko) Miller of Stowe, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday April 10, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. Born in Pottstown, PA he was the son of Lenore (Musselman) Miller of Stowe, PA and the late Howard E. Miller. Howie first started his working career at Diamond Glass in Pottstown before being drafted into the Army and earning his jump wings with the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam era. After military service, Howie worked for Dana Corporation of Pottstown for 10 years. He then worked as a Research Supervisor for Lyondell Chemical Co. for 20 years, retiring in 2012. During his retirement, he spent countless hours doing volunteer work for his church, St. Aloysius R.C.C., 223 Beech St., Pottstown, PA where he was also a member of the church's financial committee. For his role and effort in building the playground for St. Aloysius School it was recently named in honor of him. Howie was an incident commander/ firefighter for Lyondell Chemical, he was a member of the N.R.A. and an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing with his family. The center of Howie's life however were his grandchildren. Surviving with his wife and mother is a son H. Eric Miller and his wife Katie of Stowe, PA and a daughter Shannon M. wife of Mark A. Boyce of Douglassville, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Nicholas Boyce, Mary Boyce, Ethan Boyce, Thomas Miller, Sarah Boyce and Madelyn Miller. Also surviving is a sister Patricia Gibson of Stowe and he is pre-deceased by two brothers Robert E. and Terry Miller. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C. on Saturday April 16, 2016 at Noon with the Rev. Joseph L. Maloney, Pastor as celebrant, Rev. Stephen Paolino as concelebrant and Deacon George Harmansky assisting. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Township. A viewing will be Saturday from 10-Noon in the Gathering Center of St. Aloysius R.C.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pottstown Cancer Center 1600 East High St. Pottstown, PA 19464.
