Helen (Grace) Waters, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, peacefully departed this life on October 1, 2026, at Pennsburg Manor, just days shy of her 95th birthday. Born on October 13, 1931, in Heckscherville, PA, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Mary T. (Hart) Grace and the devoted wife of the late James J. Waters.
Helen's life was a tapestry woven with love for her family. She dedicated herself to being a loving homemaker, always putting her family first. Her laughter echoed through her home as she engaged in her favorite card games, revealing her playful spirit-Liverpool rummy held a special place in her heart. She delighted in travel, creating treasured memories with her two nieces, Judy and Patty. Her free time was spent in the comforting embrace of a good book, solving puzzles, or indulging in the warmth of seasonal Christmas movies.
Helen's legacy continues through her children, Joe Hughes and wife Denise, Kenneth Hughes and wife Karen, and Mary Theresa Borgard and husband Bruce. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, ten wonderful great-grandchildren, and two beautiful great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.
In addition to her husband and parents, Helen is predeceased by her cherished children, Charles "Chuck" Hughes and Betty Jo Hughes, as well as her siblings: Vincent Grace, Albert Grace, Thomas Grace, Joseph Grace, Leo Grace, James Grace, Oliver Grace, Elizabeth Drey, Joan Nicholson, Bernadette Sas, Marie Murphy, and Kathleen Stutz.
To honor and celebrate Helen's remarkable life, a viewing will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc. in Pottstown. Following the viewing, a celebratory service will commence at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, reflecting on the joyful moments she brought into the lives around her.
Helen will be laid to rest in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Pottstown.
