Helen Z. Jackson was born July 8, 1924 to Ralph and Willamena Cantrell. She peacefully departed this life on January 17, 2024. The youngest of four children,
Helen's older siblings were Teddy Cantrell, Clarence Cantrell, and Willamena Cantrell.
During her childhood, Helen attended church with her family at the Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in Harlem, New York and received her education at the church school.
Helen married Louis C. Jackson on April 5, 1947. Their union was blessed with three children, Louis C. Jackson, Jr., Rivon L. Jackson, and Chris D. Jackson.
Helen was employed by the federal government for twenty-one years and received many performance awards. She later worked as a caregiver for the parents of her good friend Jeanette Baldwin. A highlight of their friendship was a road trip to California. Helen was a devoted member of the Pine Forge Academy S.D.A. Church, where she served many years as a deaconess. She also cared for her mother until Willamena's demise.
Well beloved, Helen will be greatly missed by her extended family and church family. She was preceded in death by her siblings and youngest child Chris D. Jackson. She is survived by her son Louis C. Jackson, Jr., daughter Rivon L. Jackson; grandchildren R. Bryon Smith, Sye-isha Porter, Shaina Jackson, Louis C. Jackson III;
and several great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 promptly at 11 a.m. at Pine Forge Seventh-day Adventist Church, 308 Pine Forge Rd, Pine Forge, PA 19548. A visitation will be held prior to service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
Inurnment will follow in Birdsboro Cemetery.
