Grace K. Gritte

Grace K. Gritte, 83, beloved wife of Albert L. Gritte of South Coventry Township, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Pottstown, PA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Ellen (Davidheiser) Kirkhoff. Grace worked in the laboratory of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center for 20 years, until her retirement in 1991 and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Pottstown. She was an avid quilt and blanket maker for the needy, as well as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to the beach, cooking, gardening, and dancing, belonging to several dance clubs. Along with her husband of fifty-eight years, she is survived by two sons, Raymond L. Gritte, husband of Nita, and David J. Gritte, husband os Sheila both of Corpus Christi, Texas, two grandsons, Christian R. and Jacob A. Gritte, and a brother, James Kirkhoff, husband of Marie of Lower Pottsgrove Township. A viewing will be held Saturday from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA, with the Rev. Susan Folks, Pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Township.
