"Wherever I go, whatever I do, I'll always love and remember you" Gerald W. Hartley passed away suddenly on February 23, 2015 at Reading Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his brother Joseph Hartley and his wife Patricia, his children Gerald R. Hartley, John A. Hartley, Karen and Jeff Creasy (Ryan Hartley and Stevie Creasy)William R. Hartley, Kathleen and Matthew Bilyk (Kataryna and Aly), Maureen E. Hartley (Abigail O'Panel), Thomas F. Hartley and James T. Hartley. He is Also survived by his endearing cousins, nieces and nephews. He was born on March 5, 1938 in Philadelphia. He Attended North Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving 10 years, four years as an Aviation Structural Mechanic, and six years in the Reserves.He was a union member of Local 19 Sheet Metal Workers. He worked hard during his life to support his family, and to do his best. He was involved with Martial Arts for over 30 years. He held a Sixth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and taught himself Korean. He loved teaching. He loved his family at Blue Cottage Tae Kwon Do and the Queen City Diner in Reading. Jerry embodied a combination of strength, determination and love. He had a passion for dancing, loved his Doo Wop records, and was still going to his dances up until his death. Jerry was a dedicated father, a wonderful son and brother, a loving uncle and grandfather, and the best kind of friend. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones. His viewing will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Aloysius Church 223 Beech St. Pottstown, PA from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Mass is at 11 a.m. Interment is at Highland Memorial Park in Pottstown, PA.
