Georgine Carol Kubilus

Georgine Carol Kubilus, 79, of Gilbertsville, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Tamaqua PA, she was the daughter of the late George Chernesky and Betty Jean Woodward. She married Robert Kubilus in 1972. He predeceased her in 1997.

Georgine graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1961, after high school she attended Penn State as an art major. She later transferred to Kutztown State College and graduated in 1966 with a masters degree in English. Georgine was a teacher at Lehighton, Boyertown, and Pottsgrove school districts; she also taught at Pine Forge Academy. Georgine changed career paths and entered the banking & finance field where she worked for many years. She had been employed by National Penn Bank as an Assistant Branch Manager before retiring in 2015. She also volunteered with many community organizations throughout the years. Georgine attended Christ Episcopal Church in Pottstown PA.

To know Georgine was to love her. She was friendly and kind to everyone she met. She had a jovial sense of humor and a generous spirit. She had a passion for reading, crafting, British TV, and horses. In her younger days she loved painting, going on cruises, and traveling. She was the matriarch of her family. A devoted mother and grandmother; she loved participating in her grandchildren's lives. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities, concerts, and sporting events. Her family was her greatest joy in life. After her retirement she spent everyday visiting or talking with her children and grandchildren. Georgine was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, coworker, and friend. She will be greatly missed by many people.

Georgine is survived by her two daughters, Eileen Kubilus-Renish and Robyn Kubilus-Brunner wife of Kevin Brunner; four grandchildren: Chapel Renish, Aidan Brunner, Maya Brunner and Avery Brunner; her sister Isabelle (Tizzy) Chernesky and many other family and friends that loved her.

She was predeceased by three of her siblings: George Chernesky Jr., Mary Kathryn Raczkowski, and Betty Jean Novak Frost; and most recently her son-in-law Donny Renish.

Georgine's memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Christ Episcopal Church 316 E. High St. Pottstown, PA. Visitation with family will start at 10:15am. Memorial service will start promptly at 11am with a luncheon at the church to follow.
