Gary W. Black, Sr. 84 years, of Pottstown, passed away on August 4, 2024, at the Phoenixville Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Mirgain) Black.
Gary and Beverley had been married for over 65 years and raised five children together.
Gary was born in Flat River, Missouri on June 10, 1940 to the late Earl and Carmel (Derickson) Black. He served in the Navy and worked most of his life in leadership roles and as a business owner.
Beyond his professional pursuits Gary valued science and was a well-respected engineer and inventor finding solutions to many complicated challenges across various industries. He was an enthusiastic car collector and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Gary was a loving father to Gary Black, Jr., Adrienne Davies, Kara Allman and her husband Vincent, Brian Black and his wife Elisabeth, and Brett Black and his wife Kelli. Also survived by his sister Lydia Neun as well as 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
A private Veteran Memorial Service will be held. Burial will be at the Washington Crossing Memorial.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
