Frank J. Bellini

Frank J. Bellini, 89, of Pottstown, husband of Mary A. (Smith) Bellini, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013. They were married 65 years. He died peacefully at home , surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Gabriel and Evelyn (DeSimone) Bellini of Bellini's Italian Restaurant in Douglassville. He was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Robert. Frank Served in the army air corps as a staff sgt. During World War II. He was a top turrent gunner on a B-17 bomber. As a civilian, he became a licensed commercial pilot and a flight instructor working for Basco's Flying Service at the Pottstown Airport. Later, he was employed as a quality control supervisor at Teleflex, Mrs. Smith's Pie Co. and Small Castings in Boyertown. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing in Delaware. He is survived by two sons, Frank Jay, husband of Joan of Amherst, NY and Mark A., husband of Sue of East Coventry. Four grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Nicholas and Emma Bellini. He was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. in Pottstown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17, at 11 A.M., at St. Aloysius R.C.C., 223 Beech St., Pottstown, with Father Joseph Maloney officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius New Cemetery in Pottstown. Visitation will be at 9:30-10:45 A.M. at St. Aloysius Gathering Center. Contributions, in his memory, may be made to St. Aloysius Church.
