Frances Owens

Frances E. (McHugh) Owens, 78, widow of William J. Owens, Jr., PA, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Keystone Villa in Douglassville, PA. where she resided for 7 months.

Born in Coaldale, PA she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Mundy) McHugh.

Fran was a 1965 graduate of St. Pius X High School, Pottstown, and a 1966 graduate of Ford Business School, Pottsville, PA.

Fran began her work career as a secretary with Cann and Saul Steel Company in Royersford, PA. She worked for many years as an engineering secretary at Twin County Construction Co. in Linfield, PA, and later with Goodwill Ambulance in Pottstown, where she served as a Accounts Receivable Administrator in the billing office.

Fran was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Schwenksville. A doating grandmother, Fran was a staple at all her grandchildren's games, plays, concerts, and recitals.

Surviving is a son Kevin B. Owens, husband of Kelly of Pottstown, PA and a daughter Megan E., wife of James Lang of East Coventry Township PA., four grandchildren: Aidan and Reilly Owens, and Sarah and Avery Lang, a sister Regina Newton of Pottstown, brother-in-law Joseph Bucciaglia of Douglassville, sister-in-law Maryanne (Yannessa) Owens of Pottstown, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Fran is predeceased by her sisters, Margaret E. Bucciagila and MaryAnn Gulla and her husband Joseph, and a brother-in-law, Dennis J. Owens.

The family would like to thank the SIL Senior Care Team, especially Cyndi Krasley, for their excellent care of Fran while living with her daughter and family. Thank you, Chestnut Knoll at Home, and the superb staff of Keystone Villa Memory Care, for all their help and care of Fran. Also, we cannot say thank you enough to the staff of Caring Hospice, when they came in when they needed help the most and provided them with that and more over the past few months.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Teresa of Calcutta R.C.C. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to Mass from 9:30 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at St. Teresa Of Calcutta Church 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA. A Eulogy will be read in Fran's honor at 10:45 a.m. till 11 a.m.
