Frances Murgia Bomberger

Frances Murgia Bomberger, 93, widow of Ray J. Bomberger of Stowe, PA passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA . Born in Pottstown, PA she was the daughter of the late Giacchino and Maria Grazia (Maida) Murgia. Frances was a graduate of Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA . She was an elementary school teacher for over forty years. She first worked in the Pottstown School District, then for St. Gabriel's Elementary School and finally at Ringing Rocks Elementary School in the Pottsgrove School District from where she retired. Frances was a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother R.C. Church, 127 East Howard Street, Stowe, PA. She was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading and sharing poetry. Surviving are two sons Rev. Ray P. Bomberger, S.S.J. of Baltimore, MD and Joseph Bomberger of New Jersey; two daughters Sister M. Xavier, O.S.F. of Bethlehem, PA and Rosemary A. Palumbo , wife of Gerardo Palumbo, of Pottstown, PA. and also, seven Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren. Frances is also survived by two brothers: Louis Murgia, husband of Rosella of Midland Park, NJ and Ralph Murgia, husband of Geraldine of Stowe, PA , and her sister Josephine, widow of Paul Bomberger of Dallas, PA. She is pre-deceased by two sisters Petrina Kulp and Anna Murgia. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother R.C. Church on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10 A.M. Her son, the Rev. Ray P. Bomberger , SSJ will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA . A viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 and Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 at the Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA .
