Etta Elaine Brant

June 8, 1941 — April 6, 2021

Etta Elaine Brant

On Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Reading Hospital heaven gained another Angel, our beloved mother Etta Elaine (Calloway) Brant. She was 79 years of age when she departed this life.

Etta was born in Pottstown on June 8, 1941 to the late Carl Calloway and the late Rose (Corum) Davis-Turner. Etta resided in Virginia, Reading PA, and primarily Pottstown PA. Etta was a lifetime caregiver and worked for numerous years as a Health Care Aide at the Pennhurst Home and the Manatawny Manor assisted living facilities.

Etta's hobbies included a love for attending yard sales where she always managed to find a great deal. She was a passionate fan and shopper of the QVC Home Shopping Network. Etta was an excellent cook and absolutely loved preparing delicious and unforgettable meals for family and friends. Etta's name was synonymous with the meaning of "Mom" as she was mother to many. Etta could not resist opening the doors of her heart by providing a hot meal, a strong piece of advice, and at times even a home to people in need. That same compassion led her to become a foster parent for many years, leading to the adoption of a few that came through the doors of her heart.

Etta loved to entertain, and have a good time dancing. She enjoyed listening to music with family and friends.

Etta's legacy of love leaves behind to cherish her memory eight loving children: Walter Smith, Betty Randolph, Josh Smith, Yvonne Smith, Jack Eubanks, Robert Brant, Joshua Brant, and Jazmere Brant. Two sisters; Cynthia Turner-DeCourcey (Norristown PA), Jaffine Wilson (Atlanta GA) one brother Rev. William Calloway (Plymouth Meeting PA), twenty-two grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and an abundance of beloved friends.

Sadly, Etta was preceded in death by her late husband Claude Brandt, daughter Pamela (Smith) Dunlap, and brother Carl Calloway.
