Elizabeth Hosgood

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Hosgood, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who peacefully passed away on March 20, 2025 at the age of 88 in Reading Hospital, Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth Hosgood was born on December 2, 1936 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania to Pauline and Anthony Ciocco. She spent her life giving selflessly to her family and community. She was a loving and devoted mother to Ladonna Miller, husband Kerry; Robert Hosgood, wife Bay; and Stephanie Rowland, husband Timothy; and a proud grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Kara, Alana, Ryan, Troy, Long, Corey, and Aidan; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her love and guidance touched the lives of many, leaving an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth found joy in life, in teaching church CCD classes for young children at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Warminster, PA, being president of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Lehigh Acres Florida, sewing, traveling, and love of nature. She worked hard at a sewing factory, department store, and soldered factory computer chips. She conquered many hardships in her life with courage.

She was known for volunteering to serve the church, caring and understanding for all, love of children, and endless love of family. Her saintly character and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Ciocco, mother, Pauline Ciocco, sisters, Marie Ciocco and Lucy Fortuna, and her husband, Robert C. Hosgood. She is survived by her brother, Stephen Ciocco, and her children.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held in Elizabeth's memory on Wednesday, March 26, at 10:15 am at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 223 Beech St, Pottstown, PA 19464. A viewing will be held at the church the morning of the mass beginning at 8:45 am. Burial will be held the following day, Thursday, March 28 at 11:00 am at All Saints Cemetery, 172 All Saints Rd, Elysburg, PA 17824. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breakthrough T1D, funding life-saving diabetes research in her memory.
