Doris J. Paige

Doris J. (Dankel) Paige, 97, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025 at Harbor Chase Senior Living Center.

Born on January 18, 1928 in Pottstown, Pa., to Paul and Anna (Artim) Dankel.

She was a graduate of Pottstown High School, class of 45' and continued her education at Pottstown Business School and Brandywine College in Wilmington, De. Doris first started working for B.A.R. (Bureau of Aeronautics Rep.), Jacobs Aircraft Company in Pottstown, Pa., and B.A.R. Office, Customs Housing in Philadelphia, Pa., from 1945 till 1947. In the winter season of 1947, Doris worked at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fl., as the dining room secretary. She continued her career in 1947 till 1951 working for The Inn at Buck Hill Falls, Pa., she was the Secretary to Associate Manager. Doris's duties included secretarial, bookkeeping and personnel.

Later she worked for Volvo America as an Executive Secretary. She finished her career as the Executive Secretary to the president and CEO of WAWA Inc; a position she held for over 20 years.

Doris had many hobbies; she enjoyed reading, crafts, skiing, gardening and volunteering at local charities. One of her favorite pastimes was painting with her sister Ann. Both enjoyed many painting excursions to the Poconos and Cape May.

Doris leaves behind her loving children, Brooke Paige (wife Donna) and Lisa Paige who live in Vermont.

Along with her parents, Doris is predeceased by her sisters Ann Dankel and Pauline Messenger.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. at St. John's Byzantine Church, 301 Cherry St., Pottstown, Pa. 19464. A Mass will follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. John's Byzantine Church in Pottstown

 Burial will be in St. John's Byzantine Cemetery, Pottstown.
