Doris Harris

Doris Marie Harris, Née Saunders, was peacefully called back to her Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2021. She was the loving wife of Charles Edward Harris. The couple married in August of 1965.

Born on February 8, 1946 in Williamston, NC, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Stella V. Saunders, Née Scott. Doris was a 1964 graduate of Pottstown High School. She was employed privately as a caregiver for over 10 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Pottstown.

In addition to her devoted husband, Charles, Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, Anthony R. Harris and his companion, Lorie A. Meehan of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Walter Saunders and his wife, Beverly of Philadelphia and Charles Saunders, husband of the late Gwen of Pottstown; a sister, Margaret Taylor and her husband, Robert of Pottstown; a granddaughter, Taleah Bennett and her husband, William of Charlotte, NC and their children, Bryce and Brooklyn Bennett.

Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Doris is predeceased by two brothers, Willie and Reginald Saunders and a sister, Mary L. Barber.

A public viewing will be held from 10am to 11am at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 701 Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA 19464 in the mausoleum on Monday, June 28th, 2021. Homegoing services will commence promptly at 11am with her pastor, Rev. Roland H. Anderson II as celebrant and eulogist. Interment will follow services .
