Donald L. Johnson, 63, husband of Katie Mae (Pope) Johnson of Pottstown, PA passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016 at his residence. Born in Amherst, Virginia he was the son of the late John Duvall and Egenia (Johnson) Vaughn. Donald had worked for Dana Corporation first in Reading, PA for twenty years and then in Pottstown for five years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville, PA. Donald had enjoyed gardening. Surviving with his wife are two sons Dion L. Johnson fiancée of Rachele of Monroeville, PA and Donald E. Watson husband of Channel of Maryland. He is also survived by a daughter Tanya L. Johnson fiancée of Lamar, Sr. of Pottstown, PA . Donald is survived by four brothers Lawrence Byrd husband of Pat of Florida, Antonio Byrd of Pottstown, PA, Kevin Byrd of Maryland and Timothy Harrison of Pottstown, PA . Also, a sister Sharon Johnson of Douglassville, PA and a special cousin Alberta Harper of Pottstown, PA and five grandchildren Marcus Estes, Lamar A. Green, Lamonia Green, Dominique Watson and Dontray Smith and a great-great granddaughter Nioni Smith. He is also survived by an Uncle Oscar Johnson of Maryland and two aunts Arlene Gould of Philadelphia and Ellen Tompkins of Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 25, 2016 at 11 A.M. from Bethel Baptist Church 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, PA with the Rev. Nathan Coleman, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA . A viewing will be Friday from 9-11 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Center at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, 1600 East High St. Pottstown, PA 19464.
