David Vernon Simmons

David V. Simmons, 82, passed away November 23, 2022, at Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on July 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Herbert and Margaret (Smith) Simmons.

David was a highly decorated United States Army Veteran, receiving the medals for Sharpshooting and Expert Rifle marksmanship. David worked for Alan Wood Steel before and after his military service, and then as a supervisor for the Willman Jacquard Manufacturing company in Norristown. He last worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff's department until his retirement.

David is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Beverly Simmons; son, Sterling Nav Simmons (Helen); four grandchildren: Nicholas Simmons, James Simmons, Riley Simmons and Liam Simmons; and brother, Leonard Simmons.

David is predeceased by his son, David Van Simmons; three sisters, Barbara Vashon, Roberta Scott, Dorothy Austin, and a brother, Herbert Simmons.

Friends and family may gather for a public visitation on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Warker - Troutman Funeral Home Inc, Pottstown. A service will follow promptly at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
