David E Rakowski

David E. Rakowski, 62, of Pottstown PA, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Pembrooke Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Chester, PA after a lifelong battle with his health.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of Bernadine M (Wisinski) Rakowski and the late Edmund E. Rakowski. David was a graduate of Pottstown High School and was in the Kent Crest workshop program until his retirement in 2019. He was also a member of the St. Aloysius Church, Pottstown.

David's life was challenging, but he found pleasure in visiting construction sites where he could watch bulldozers, cranes, and dump trucks in action. Additionally, he collected tonka trucks, which provided him with entertainment by recreating what he saw during his construction site visits. He also enjoyed watching Pro Wrestling, Batman, and Godzilla movies. In his younger years, he was considered an "expert' video-game player. No one could top his scores.

David was a family man and loved watching his niece and nephews grow up. He found joy cheering for them in their sporting events, especially wrestling matches. He loved to joke around and was always laughing, bringing a smile to those around him. David was very caring and always checked to see how everyone was doing, including every pet that he knew. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Also surviving are a brother Edmund M. husband of Barbara Rakowski, of Gilbertsville and sister, Carol A. McAllister, wife of Raymond E. McAllister, of Harleysville; one niece, Kelly McAllister and three nephews, Michael, Stephen and Brian Rakowski.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Saturday, October 30, 2021. At St. Aloysius Church, Pottstown. A public viewing will be held prior to Mass from 9:15 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. in St. Aloysius Gathering Center. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius New Cemetery.
