David Bause

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of David Francis Bause in his home on Thursday, November 20th, 2025. Whether it was his infectious smile, his belly laughs or his pocket-sized inspirations - he had a gift for making those around him feel special. Dave's generosity of heart and joyful presence were a source of comfort and encouragement to all who knew him.

Dave was born on February 16, 1936, in Boyertown, PA, and grew up above Bause's Drug Store. It was there that he discovered two lifelong passions: ice cream-thanks to the many tempting ice cream flavors that he sampled for breakfast-and radio, as he made P.A. announcements for his family's drug store. After graduating from Boyertown High in 1953, he went on to earn a degree in communications from American University in Washington D.C. After earning his degree, Dave went on to serve our country in Korea. Once returning home, he stayed true to his passion for radio and became a disc jockey in Reading, PA. These early experiences set the course for the years ahead, including marrying his wife, Jan, and welcoming his two daughters. He spent several years selling and teaching Dale Carnegie courses, where his kindness, enthusiasm and belief in people shined. In the same spirit of dedication to others, Dave and Jan opened their own print shop, Copy Fast Printing-a business they ran side by side for forty years. Beyond his professional work, Dave moved through life with a spirit of creativity, humor, and service. As a Reiki Master for more than 30 years, he offered healing with a gentle spirit and taught countless others. His generosity of heart carried into all of his passions. He loved juggling and shared that joy freely, teaching more than 3,000 people the simple delight of keeping balls, scarves, and rings in the air. That same sense of wonder also fueled his love of photography. He spent countless hours capturing nature's beauty and bringing it to life in print, always eager to share the world as he saw it.

Dave was welcomed to his heavenly home by his Mother and Father (Daniel and Frances Dieter Bause), his siblings (Daniel Bause, Carl Bause, Nancy Osterman, and Jane Guilde), his son (in-law) Cesar Bartra, his brother (in-law) Peter Landry, his nephew (James Baird III). Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Janice (Croyle) Bause, his daughters - Erin Bause and Amy Bartra, his grandchildren - Sarah Schaul (Andrew), Maeve Colombo (Gabriel), and Lionel Landry, and his great grandchildren - Wyatt, Everett, Esther and Noah. As well as his nephews and nieces (Daniel III, Martha, Catherine, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Kim and Abby).
