Cora E. "Corky" Hoefling, 86, wife of John G. "Jerry" Hoefling of Romig Road, New Hanover Township died Friday April 5, 2013 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, PA she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elsie (Rightnour ) Gonder. Cora was a cashier for both the former Food Fair which became Pantry Pride of Pottstown, PA. She was proud to say that she was the first one hired at both Food Fair and Pantry Pride and served the last customers before each closed. She was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. Pottstown, PA and a member of A.A.R.P. and the auxiliary of the Ringing Hill Fire Company. Cora prided herself in her culinary skills. She had been the chief food preparer for the former Leisure Hour at St. Thomas More R.C.C. South Coventry Township. Surviving with her husband is a son William Balloge husband of Trudy of Kutztown, PA and a daughter Beverly Schaffer of Delray Beach, FL . She is also survived by two grandchildren Todd Schaffer husband of Heather of Boca Raton, FL and Neaka Balloge of Los Angeles, CA. Also, two great-grandchildren Emma and Lily Schaffer both of Boca Raton, FL . Along with her parents Cora was pre-deceased by four brothers. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA with the Rev. Joseph L. Maloney, Pastor of St. Aloysius R.C.C. officiating. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Township. A viewing will be Tuesday evening from 7-9 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels Family Services – Montgomery County 1976 East High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
