Clark W. Lippert, age 70, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at his home due to complications from Agent Orange. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Marian (Bell) Lippert; his son, Wesley Lippert and his wife, Shannon Lippert; his daughter, Marci Scheuing and her husband Matthew Scheuing; three grandchildren, Kayla, Avery, Regan and a fourth grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Lippert) Parker and her husband, Ronald, many close family members and friends, and his dog Duffy. Born and raised in Clifton Heights, PA, the son of Clark and Marie (Lineman) Lippert, he was a lifelong resident of Douglassville, PA. After graduating from Clifton Heights High School, he was drafted into the United States Army on December 7, 1965, where he served honorably in Vietnam. He was a Doorgunner for the 229 Aviation Battalion Assault Helicopter "Winged Assault", 11th Aviation Group, 1st Air Calvary. He saw action in Operation Thayer and Operation Pershing. For his service in Vietnam, he was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Overseas Service Bar. He was also awarded the Army Commendation Medal. In his 25 year career in retail, he worked for over ten years at Robert Hall Clothing Store, which is what brought him to the Pottstown area. He then worked as an insurance agent, until retirement. Clark was dedicated to the greater community in volunteering and community service. He was instrumental in bringing the Soap Box Derby and DEK Hockey to the Pottstown area. He also coached baseball, basketball, golf, and softball at Saint Aloysius. During the holidays, he rang the bell for the Salvation Army. He was an avid golfer and Philadelphia Sports fan with his son, Wesley, and a diehard Kutztown University Field Hockey fan, for his daughter, Marci. He was also loved by all referees around the PSAC. Family will receive guests on Saturday, January 28, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Gathering Center at Saint Aloysius Parish, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Saint Aloysius is located at 223 Beech St. Pottstown, PA Interment will follow the mass at Saint Aloysius New Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saint Aloysius Athletic Fund (220 N. Hanover Street, Pottstown,PA 19464), Kutztown University Field Hockey Scholarship Fund (201 Keystone Hall, Kutztown, PA 19530), or the Animal Rescue League (58 Kennel Road, Reading, PA 19508).
