Charles H. Valentine

Charles H. Valentine, Sr., 85, widower of Dorothy Eleanor (Wentzel) Valentine and Shirley (Moyer) Bartholomew Valentine of Benson, Arizona and formerly of Stowe, PA died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Coatesville, PA he was the son of the late Joseph T. & Ann (McCearn) Valentine. Charles had worked as an automotive mechanic for over 35 years working mostly at Hrivnak Motors. Charles enjoyed restoring his vintage Barracuda, listening to country music and playing guitar. Surviving are two sons Charles H. Valentine, Jr. husband of Kathleen of Stowe, PA and Joseph Valentine of Benson, Arizona. He is also survived by four daughters Carol wife of Sterling Vanderslice of Spring City, PA, Janet wife of Virgil Maldonado of Pottstown, PA, Bonnie widow of Randall Lukehart of Monticello, Maine and Evelyn Jean wife of Jimmy Uphold of South Pottstown, PA . He is also survived by five step-children Guy Bartholomew husband of Donna of Pottstown, PA, Leroy Bartholomew husband of Cindi of Gilbertsville, PA, Viola Bartholomew companion of Donald Shaffer of Pennsburg, PA, Minerva Hanley of Benson, Arizona and Kathryn Bauer of Pottstown, PA . He is also survived by a sister Doris Brown of Honeybrook, PA and 18 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was also pre-deceased by two children Donald Valentine and Darlene Wade and by a stepson Lee Bartholomew. His Friend Kay Vallner in Benson, Arizona will miss him dearly. He had numerous friends in the Benson area that will also miss his friendship. Funeral services will be Monday September 22, 2014 at 11 from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA with the Rev. Bruce Levengood, pastor of Hopewell Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Pottstown Cemetery West, North Hanover Street, Pottstown, PA .
