Charles Joseph Pizzi, Jr., aged 79 of Pottstown, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, in Philadelphia, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on December 14, 1946, in Bryn Mawr to the late Charles Pizzi, Sr. and Regina (Roberts) Pizzi.
Charlie grew up in Rosemont, and later Narberth. In 1965 he graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School. That same year he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, being stationed at various points in Texas, Illinois, and Hawaii. During his service, Charlie met his wife, Joan (Krosse) Pizzi, who survives. They were married on July 20, 1968, in Canal Fulton, OH, and would go on to share 57 wonderful years of marriage.
After exiting the service, Charlie and Joan settled in Gulph Mills, later moving to Pottstown in 1987. Charlie worked as a HVAC designer for over forty years, first for Robert J. Sigel, Inc., then for Jacobs, and finally for SNC-Lavalin.
Throughout all his life Charlie had a great love of animals and the outdoors, never passing up an opportunity to go fishing, hunting, trapping, and in his later years kayaking. He was also a prolific reader, and enjoyed going out to the movies with friends. Above all, Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, with whom he loved to find new spots to share breakfast and take on fishing trips.
In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his beloved daughter, Rita Pringle (Dennis), and cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Reggie, all of Pottstown. He is also survived by a brother, Frank Pizzi, of Pittsburgh; sisters, MaryAnn Hickey (Lenny) of Bluffton, SC and Gina Schival (Joe) of Spring City; his feline companion, Polly; and numerous relatives, in-laws, and friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for their diligent care of Charlie during his final days.
