Charles Eugene Kanaskie

Charles Eugene Kanaskie, Jr. 92, of Pottstown, passed away in Pottstown Hospital on Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was the loving husband of the late Jacqueline M. (Danilowski) Kanaskie. The couple were married 63 years before Jacqueline passed in 2014.

Born in Shamokin on Halloween of 1928, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Anna M. Kanaskie. He was a devoted member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Pottstown.

Charles worked for Bethlehem Steel over 30 years before they closed. He then worked at Kiwi Shoe for 16 years before retiring.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting and going to the mountains. He was a lifelong member of the Shamokin Elks, the East Cameron Twp. Fire House in Shamokin and the Pottstown Moose.

Charles is survived by two children, Dennis James Kanaskie of Pottstown and Kathleen Ann Kanaskie and her fiancé, Randy Eidle of Pottstown. .

Graveside service will be Thursday, February 11th, 2021 at 11:30 am in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Pottstown. A viewing will be held Thursday, February 11th, 2021 at 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, Inc, 726 E High St Pottstown, PA 19464.
