Charles "Charlie" Dickinson

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Charles W. "Charlie" Dickinson at the age of 83. Charlie departed this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Michelle. His life, during which he worked endlessly in service, touched the lives of many and he will be profoundly missed. Hand-written letters, his articulation and his vision for making what was old new again, are just some of what was lost.

Born to the late C. Clifford and Alma (Seabolt) Dickinson,

Charlie was a proud Army Veteran who served his country with honor, demonstrating a commitment to service that extended well beyond his military years. Charlie became a 32nd degree Mason, he was also a Shriner. His favorite hobby was bringing old cars back to life and even back in high school, was known to be able to make a car run on fumes. His ingenuity in conserving resources and saving whatever could be saved was something to behold.

 An entrepreneur at heart, he dedicated his life to building and nurturing businesses that left an indelible mark on his community. Over the years, Charlie founded and operated D&D Collision and CMD Services and operated PART Inc. He spent nearly fifty years making sure that the people of Pottstown had access to the services they needed and he made it affordable. His tireless work ethic and devotion to his ventures showcased his deep care for and commitment to each of the industries he was dedicated to. The careful choosing, planting and care for the flowers in the borough of Pottstown was left to his girls, but he oversaw the venture each year with pride. Much like the scholarships he and his wife awarded each year to students leaving high school to pursue the trades, or the Christmas donation through tithing he made each year, many did not know that Charlie invested in enriching lives outside of work.

Known for his willingness to help any time of day or night, as well as his leadership within the community, Charlie became a familiar face to many. His name was synonymous with reliability and integrity, earning him the respect and admiration of friends, employees and customers alike. Charlie's impact on Pottstown will be felt for generations to come, as he fostered connections and built a legacy that transcended business. We remember Charlie for all the things that made him so unique. His memory will be ever-lasting for those of us that knew him well and his legacy, concreted through philanthropy, does and will continue to change lives. 

In addition to his wife Michelle, he is survived by his step-children, Jennifer Palmer and her husband Bill, and Kristin Fahey, who enriched his life. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister Sherrie Peterka and her husband Gerard, as well as his nieces, nephews, their spouses and children, his work family, and the best of friends. Charlie also leaves behind his eight wonderful step-grandchildren-Grace, Mary, Hannah, William, Layla, Kasen, Isaiah, and Lincoln-whose laughter and joy filled his heart.

Charlie is pre-deceased by his wife, Lida, his sister, Donna, his brother, Samuel Dickinson, and his sister-in-law Carol.

As we reflect on the many memories shared with Charlie, we invite friends and family to celebrate his remarkable life. A night viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc, Pottstown. A Masonic Mason service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the Funeral Home. A day viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. till 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Pottstown. A service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church, followed by a luncheon. Burial is private.
