Monday morning, December 23, 2024 our Latin dancing king, our 'fix-it' man, our jokester passed on peacefully, at home, surrounded by his adoring family. In a lifetime one seldom has the good fortune to meet someone like Cesar Bartra. Packed into his solid frame, hidden behind his bright brown eyes and tucked under his thick peppered dark hair – dwells a Man for all of life's seasons. A man who can fix anything from electrical to plumbing and everything in between; build a home; coach his daughter's and grandson's soccer teams; shovel snow for family, neighbors, and strangers alike; paint & create decorations for his grandchildren's birthdays; a friend to count on and much more.
Cesar was born in Lima, Peru On August 10, 1961 to Miguel & Ana Bartra. He always shared fond memories growing up in Peru along with his 3 siblings Mario, Elena and Ivette – playing soccer, spending time at the beach, and at one time owning a pet monkey. After graduating high school, Cesar went on to serve in the military as a part of the cavalry division. Later he was promoted to Chief of Police in Peru. In 1990, Cesar came to the United States of America for a change in career but found so much more. In 1991, he married the love of his life, his 'angel on earth' – Amy (Bause) Bartra. Together they spent 34 years building a life full of love, service, laughter, dancing & adventure; and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Sarah and Maeve. Once coming to the US, Cesar worked in various mechanical and electrical service positions finding friends along the way, most recently at The Manor at Downingtown where he found a group of friends that were like family that he cared for deeply.
Cesar is survived by his cherished family: his loving wife - Amy Bartra; his siblings: Ivette Cagigao (Fernando), Mario Bartra (Monica) & Elena Thompson (Roberto); his daughters: Maeve Colombo, Sarah Schaul, Claudia Guerra & Rose Lord; his sons (in law): Andrew Schaul, Gabriel Colombo; his nephews: Lionel Landry, Roberto Thompson, Gianluca Cagigao; his nieces: Daniela Thompson, Valeria Thompson, Ana Bartra, Michelle Bartra, Franchesca Bartra, Alexandra Bartra, Yanina Cagigao; his grandchildren: Wyatt Schaul, Esther Colombo, Everett Schaul; his sister (in law) Erin Bause and his mother & father in-law: Janice and David Bause.
A Celebration of Cesar's Life will be held on Saturday, January 4th at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 548 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, PA 19518. Service will begin promptly at 12pm, with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that friends & family share written memories & photos of Cesar and bring them to his Celebration of Life and/or email them to amybausebartra@gmail.com.

Oh, how precious time is! Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it. Oh, if only all could understand how precious time is, undoubtedly everyone would do his best to spend it in a praiseworthy manner! – Padre Pio
