Cecilia T. Thees

Cecilia T. Thees, 86, widow of Philip P. Thees passed away peacefully at her sons residence on South Evans Street, Pottstown, PA on Sunday February 24, 2013. Before living on South Evans St. she had made her residence on East Second Street. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert P. and Veronica M. (Kowalski) Gnoza. Cecilia was a bookkeeper for the former Burtons Ladies Shop of Pottstown and then for Smale's plumbing also of Pottstown, PA . She was a graduate of Pottstown High School class of 1944. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church 301 Cherry Street, Pottstown, PA and was very devoted to our Lord and the Blessed Mother. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of Father Bally Council #1192 Knights of Columbus in Stowe, PA for over 50 years. Cecilia was described by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are three sons Philip A. Thees and Thomas P. Thees with whom she resided and Edward P. Thees of Boyertown, PA. She is also survived by two daughters Theresa M. wife of Al Hermann of Seattle, WA and Martha B. Mochan of Pottstown, PA She is also survived by two grandchildren Andora wife of Eric Detwiler of Douglassville, PA and Sophia Hermann of Seattle, WA and two great-grandchildren Ryan and Reese Detwiler both of Douglassville, PA . She is also survived by two brother-in-laws James Lammey and John Thees and a sister-in-law Marlene Gnoza. She is survived by two sisters Natalie wife of Stephen Zagorski of Pottstown, PA and Ann widow of Henry Phillips of North Coventry Township and by her caregiver Frances March and fifteen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Cecilia is pre-deceased by a brother Albert Gnoza and four sisters Rita Batzel, Eleanor Green, Eugenia Lammey and Barbara Gnoza. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday March 1, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. from St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Pottstown, PA . A viewing will be held Thursday evening February 28, 2013 from 7-8:30 P.M. with Parastas services at 7:15 P.M. and recitation of the Rosary at 7:45 P.M and Friday morning from 9-10 A.M. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA.
