Bunny M. Hare

May 30, 1943 — June 16, 2024

Bunny M. Hare

Born in Berks County, PA on the 30th of May, 1943 Bunny Hare was truly one-of-a-kind. By natural cause, she passed away at home on June 13th 2024.

Bunny was predeceased by her father William J, mother Catherine C, and cherished older brother Eli "Bill" Hare. She is survived by her sister Catherine Fox, a niece and two nephews, her sweet cat Scarlett, and a handful of friends and neighbors to whom she was like family.

The Hare's moved to a lovely farm at the highest point in Pike Township in 1932. Bunny received her early education at the one room school house on Hill Church rd. She graduated from Catholic School in 1961. For her graduation gift, her dear brother Bill bought her a plane ticket to join him in California. She decided it was the place for her, and making a bold move for a young woman of her time she found a job and made a life for herself in LA.

Bunny went on to live in LA for 32 years during which time she was employed by Pacific Bell Yellow Pages from which she retired as a Supervisor in 1992. She was well loved by her coworkers and peers.

Bunny made some of her very best friends and memories during her time living on the west coast. She returned to her childhood home in Pike Township, PA in 1993 where she remained until August of 2022 when she took a residence in the Sanatoga Ridge Community of Pottstown.

Bunny was a dutiful and loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend, neighbor, servant of the Lord and member of her community. She was a remarkable giver in every sense of the word. She volunteered her time at many charitable organizations such as Boyertown Multi-Service and Meals on Wheels. Bunny was also active over the years at both St. John's Hill UCC and St. Joseph's Hill Church in Pike Township. She held many pleasant memories of her time making candy, singing with the choir and serving food at church picnics with her friends and neighbors.

Bunny was a beloved bonus Aunt to many neighborhood children, as she was a great and trusted help to her neighbors often volunteering to watch the kids, be on bus pick up duty, and taking the kids on fun activities like a trip to the mall or movies. She was a strict enforcer of manners, and many of us were left better for it.

She was a quick-wit who had many of her own special words and go-to sayings that confused some, but were easily understood by those lucky enough to be close to her. She was a special woman who touched many lives with her positivity, compassion and encouragement. She will be sorely missed.
