Bruce A. Lessig, 99, husband of Verna M. (Orrs) Lessig of Pottstown, PA passed away on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at Pottstown, Hospital. Born in Pottstown, PA he was the son of the late Charles W. and Mary E. (Quigley) Lessig, Sr. Bruce was the President and Owner of the Kern-Lessig Insurance Agency for 18 years. He then worked for Evans - Hausman & Richard for ten yrs. serving as chairman of the board for five yrs., retiring in 1992. Bruce was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Catholic War Veteran's of Bridgeport, PA post 1683. He was a member of the former George Amole Post 47 of the American Legion of Pottstown, PA for over 50 yrs. He was a current member of the Brigadier General Elmer S. Friedberg post # 244 American Legion of Sanatoga, PA. He was also a member of Pottstown Optimist and the Rotary Club He was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. of Pottstown. For many years he owned and raced horses in Delaware & Maryland. Surviving with his wife is a daughter Sheila A. wife of Robert Peterson of Phoenixville, PA and a grandson Bradley Peterson. He is also pre-deceased by two brothers Charles and Wendell Lessig. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C. Beech & Hanover Streets in Pottstown, PA on Tuesday November 19, 2019 at 11 A.M. The family will receive friends in St. Aloysius Gathering center on Tuesday from 10:30-11 A.M. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Aloysius R.C.C. 844 N. Keim St. Pottstown, PA 19464
