Brent Lavere Miller

Brent L. Miller was a kind and generous man who was always willing to give of his time, energy and support. He filled rooms with his calm and steady presence all the way through to the end of his life on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the age of 72.

He loved his family, first and foremost, and more than anything loved hearing his family fill rooms with sounds of laughter.

Brent was a husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, friend, and active member of the community, including as a beloved member of Cedarville United Methodist Church.

A man of steady faith, it guided him and others around him. At Cedarville he was a founding member of the Cedarville Brass Quartet, which played together for over 25 years. He was active in various church committees, regularly volunteered for community meals, served as the church photographer, taught Sunday School, and was available if anyone ever needed anything.

He was happily married to his wife, Vicki, for almost 50 years. Together, they raised two children, Andrea and Greg and welcomed their spouses Calvin and Christin with open arms as his own. He absolutely adored his granddaughter, Aubrey, and loved seeing and making her laugh.

Brent was born in York, PA. He received a bachelor's degree from Kutztown University in Library Science in 1970 and was married in 1974 to the love of his life. Brent and Vicki have lived in East Coventry Township since 1987. Brent worked in the agricultural industry, and retired from Seedway LLC after working there for over 20 years. He brought his professional knowledge home with him and took great pride in his yard and garden.

He adored the majesty of God's creation which manifested in his award-winning photography. He spent many of his waking hours building models, voraciously reading, bird watching, bowling, creating model train layouts and playing his trombone. As well as the Cedarville Brass, he also participated in the Pottsgrove Community band. He was an artist. Flowers and pencil drawings of houses were favorite subjects.

Brent was the kind of person that you could always rely on, willing to help out with an open heart, freely giving of himself to others. He was a "knower of all things," if you ever needed to get an answer, you could turn to him and he would point you in the right direction.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Mabel. He is survived by his wife, children, and his sisters Maureen, Becky, and Suzanna as well as a multitude of much loved other family members. A private graveside ceremony will be held with a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Cedarville United Methodist Church, 1092 Laurelwood Rd, Pottstown 19465.

Warker-Troutman Funeral Home is honored to serve the Miller family.
