Betty Ann Daily

Betty Ann Daily, 80, of Pottstown, PA, and beloved wife of Richard J. Daily, went to be with Christ on December 2, 2017. Betty is survived by six children: Patricia Andrien, Paul James, Michael, Robert, Thomas and Jeffrey Daily, sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her daughter Kathleen Daily Will. In 1980, Betty founded the Pottstown Chapter of Birthright international, and served as its volunteer Director of 37 years, retiring in 2016. She gave her time, love and support to three generations of expectant mothers. A devout Catholic, Betty served God by serving others. Her pro-life efforts were recognized by President Ronald Reagan, whom she met in 1988. Betty and the work of Birthright have been the subject of numerous Mercury newspaper articles over the years, especially during Supreme Court rulings on abortion. Betty was involved in Meals on Wheels and Nursing Mothers and taught catechism at St. Thomas More RC Church for 20 years. She initiated an outreach program to collect items for the Cluster of Religious Communities, Mom's House, the Veteran's Association, and the Salvation Army. She was the recipient of the Sally Lee lifetime achievement award in 2013 through the YWCA of Pottstown. The mission of Birthright is to meet the maternal and material needs of pregnant woman, regardless of age,race,culture or religion. Birthright is a volunteer, non-profit and non-political organization funded by donations. It provides free pregnancy testing, counseling, practical assistance and referrals to medical services, education, and nutritional and housing support. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Thomas More RC Church, Rt. 100 & Cadmus Road, Pottstown, PA on Thursday December 7, 2017 at 11 A.M. The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. at the church.
