Anthony Barbalace

Anthony Barbalace, 89, widower of Nancy Rose (Cristofaro) of Stowe, PA passed away on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at his residence. Born in San Ferdinando Reggio Calabria, Italy he was the son of the late Agostino and Maria (Broso) Francesca Barbalace. Anthony had worked for 30 years as an electrician for Bethlehem Steel corporation formerly of Pottstown, PA retiring at the age of 62. After his retirement he worked part-time at a few other places in the Pottstown, PA . He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Gabriel's R.C.C. of Stowe, PA and a member of the church's mens society and senior citizens. He was also a member of St. Gabriel's Lodge in Stowe, PA, the former Maria Assunta Lodge of Pottstown and the Victor Emmanuel Lodge in Reading, PA. He belonged to the United Steelworkers of America, the Pottstown Senior Citizens and Father Bally Council # 1192 Knights of Columbus of Stowe, PA. Anthony enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables and fishing. He was a man who could fix anything. He loved to play pranks on people. Surviving are two sons Augustine Barbalace of Stowe, PA and Frank Barbalace husband of Cathy of Glenmore, PA. He is also survived by a daughter Donna Marie wife of Rocco A. D'Emilio of Stowe, PA. Anthony is survived by five grandchildren Derek D'Emilio husband of Audrey, Sarah Smith wife of T.J., Jordan D'Emilio, Taylor Barbalace and Devon Barbalace. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren Liliana D'Emilio, Levi Smith and Meara Smith. He is pre-deceased by a brother Ferdinando Barbalace and a sister Maria Tavella. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Gabriel's R.C.C., 127 E. Howard St., Stowe, PA on Monday August 19, 2019 at 11 A.M. A viewing will be held at St. Gabriel's Church prior to the Mass from 8:30-10:45 A.M. Entombment will bi in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA .
