Alice Ann Noble

Alice Ann Noble, 86, widow of Howard J. Noble of N. Charlotte St. Pottstown passed away Thursday October 17, 2013 at the Frederick Mennonite Community. Born in King of Prussia she was a daughter of Maurice and Alice (Crimmins) Fogarty. She was employed as a telephone operator by Bell Telephone Co. and later as the expense manager of Cody Systems. She was a member of St. Aloysius RC Church. Alice, with a strong work ethic forged as a child during the Great Depression, worked her entire life, even continuing to work part-time up until a month before her passing, walking the nearly twenty stairs to and from her apartment every day. Her keen mind, sharp wit, easy laugh and unending thoughtfulness for all, marked a life of commitment, compassion, humor and faith. Lovingly referred to as "Memom" by family and friends alike, her joy for life, cheerfully stoic countenance and tireless dedication to her family and beliefs were constant guidepost for all who knew and loved her. With never an unkind word about anyone, Alice is a spirit that will, most definitely, live on through her works and the memory of a community that her life touched profoundly. Surviving is a son David J. Noble and his wife Loraine. Daughters Frances Ann widow of David H. Heffner, Joann wife of Robert Pittman, Alice Ann wife of Dr. Joseph Sodroski and Mary Ann wife of Stuart Salen. Fifteen grandchildren, six step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. A brother Richard Fogarty and sister Dorothy Fogarty I.H.M. Predeceased by a brother Maurice Fogarty. A viewing will be held Thursday October 24, 2013 from 5 to 6:30 pm in St. Aloysius Church Gathering Center, Beech and Hanover Sts. Pottstown. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am Friday in St. Aloysius Church. Burial will be Friday at 1 pm in St. Augustine Cemetery, route 202, King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Church Capiltal Campaign Fund 223 Beech St. Pottstown, PA 19464. Arrangements by Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, Pottstown.
