Agnes C. Cotton

Agnes C. Cotton, Principal Cotton, Miss Cotton or Aunt as many of us called her passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Sanatoga Center, Lower Pottsgrove Township . She was 101 years old. Agnes was born November 21, 1911 to the late George and Miriam (Nichols) Cotton. She attended Warwick Sr. High, in Knauertown, PA and graduated from Pottstown Senior High in 1928. She then went on to pursue her dream graduating from West Chester University where she received a teaching degree. She was a loved and caring elementary teacher in the South Coventry School District. She was also a teacher and principal for many years in the Upper Marion School District. She was a wonderful Aunt and gave from the heart. We all have many great memories of her. She had spent her last years at the Sanatoga Nursing Home where she was well cared for and loved. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Edna H. Wilkinson. Also a niece Barbara Ohanesian. She loved her animals which are with her now. She is survived by two nephews Derek Wilkinson (Cecelia) and Norman Wilkinson (Linda) and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be held at Pughtown Baptist Cemetery, Pughtown, PA on Friday July 12, 2013 at 11 A.M. with the Rev. John Kolle officiating.
